Booklist Reviews : Booklist Reviews - Audio And Video Online Reviews 1991-2018 Amos Decker is thrown into his third case when he witnesses a man shooting a woman, and then himself, outside the FBI headquarters in Washington, D.C. Decker, along with his colleagues, is tasked with finding the connection between the shooter and his victim, as well as a motive for this very-public crime. Brewer and Cassidy's dual narration adds dimension and depth to the story. There's a lot of dialogue, and the two narrators allow this to flow naturally. Brewer voices Decker and the other male characters, while Cassidy voices the female characters, including Harper Brown, the Defense Intelligence agent tasked with stopping Decker's investigation. They manage the pace well and underline the action, tension, urgency, and emotion. Though this is the third series entry, there's enough backstory to allow listeners to start here. The narration elevates the writing, making this a must-listen for anyone who enjoys detailed plots, action, and eccentric characters. Copyright 2019 Booklist Reviews.
